You’re attached to a plant and there’s no forseeable limit to your potential, until you reach full maturity and find yourself cut off from any sense of comfort. You’re either sealed in a can or, if you’re a luckier pea, frozen. The sad truth is that a pea, no matter how optimistic it may be, will end up spending its entire life trying to come up with a way of rotting that doesn’t involve being digested and broken down into waste, which is as pointless an endeavor as any.
Think about this as you leave your shitty cubicle tonight, worrying about your retirement.
