will you admit, to yourself, that you made a mistake?

Anyone who treats their vote as something more than picking a winner for a sporting event will make such an admission. Sadly, there’s a large subset of citizens that feel they must support their decisions no matter how obviously wrong they may be. To these people the President they helped to elect is a perpetual candidate that they’ll campaign for throughout their term.
